ABOUT OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Outdoor Education becomes a life-long memory for students. We serve groups from 15-125. Our flexible program gives educators the ability to help guide the curriculum. Working alongside our program director, you will create a schedule combining educational curriculum, team building, and fun camp activities that will have your students learning hands-on, stepping outside their comfort zones, and bonding with their classmates.

WHO DOES WHAT?

Outdoor education field trips may seem overwhelming, but Koinonia is known for hospitality. You can choose your level of involvement in the planning process:

  • We can run 100% of the program and you assist with crowd control and student engagement.

  • You can run some of your own curriculum blocks and supplement our offerings.

  • You can run 100% of the education and we can run 100% of the fun!

Each school is responsible for student supervision and must provide their own chaperones. We suggest 1 in-cabin chaperone for every 8-10 students, plus 1 additional leader (such as teachers and school admin) for every 20-25 students. Some schools prefer to recruit high school students (Juniors and Seniors) to serve as chaperones for their 5th or 6th grade students.

Our staff consists of a program director, outdoor education instructors, and additional program staff. Our Kitchen Crew provides all the meals and snacks.

My favorite part of camp was going on nature walks and seeing all the wilderness because it was really quiet and a good experience to get outside and get off your phone.
