Service Projects at Camp

Big Service Project Ideas

Team Building Course

We are looking to build a 5-10 element low-ropes team building course in our old RV Loop. It would involve clearing the areas, creating paths, building the elements, and securing the safety for participants.

Playground

Our camp is seeking to build a small playground near our pool area featuring a slide, climbing element and small tree house. We don’t have any design ideas and would rely on your ideas.

Fire Pit Rings & Picnic Table Seating

We are in desperate need of new fire pit circles and dozens of picnic tables. The project involves designing, building and creating attractive, usable outdoor spaces. Our pits need to have a wood burning and propane option.

Sled & Tubbing Hill Path

Our current sledding hill is small and in the path of one of our driveways. We are hoping to carve out a new sledding option down the main hill at camp. It would include clearing trees and creating large mounds to turn.

Tool & Maintenance Shop

We are in need of a large building to be painted, cleared out, new stairs built, and upstairs completely rehabbed. This project is very challenging and will require a lot of work.

Camp Sign

We are looking to add to our entrance. We want to build a huge archway sign at the entrance of our camp at the top of the hill and build a similar smaller sign at the entrance of our camp.

Imagine the Possibilities

I picture all the different groups that come to Camp Koinonia utilizing these tables, spaces and meeting areas in their own unique way. Consider the options for outdoor meals. How many marker and crayon initials will appear over the years. Will someone learn so much about Jesus, they turn their lives over to God.

Help us make this possible. Take a Seat.

Take-a-Seat at Camp Koinonia

Take-a-Seat at Camp Koinonia

This spring, we want to create 40 new places to meet, eat, worship and gather. The effort has already begun. With your financial support, we will build 20-30 new picnic tables to be placed by the lodge, in front of cabins, and in our Tent/RV area. We will also create 3-5 new firepit rings with new chairs and benches. In addition, we will add seating in front of every cabin, retreat center or meeting room for individuals to rest & spend time in prayer.

Not Just Any Camp

With a rich history of campers, retreaters, camp staff, volunteers and donors, Camp Koinonia provides guests with a unique experience in the woods. Surrounded by 111 acres of tall pines and towering mountains, Koinonia offers a rustic hideaway with several perks.

Some of our site attractions include a heated swimming pool, pond for funyaks and fishing, full-service dining hall, fire pits, horse stables, a yurt, and miles of hiking trails. When it comes to putting your head to the pillow, we offer indoor sleeping accommodations for 144 guests in heated buildings. We have recently remodeled almost every building with new bunks and mattresses. We have a retreat center with games and a large living area. We have two large meeting spaces where we eat and where several groups meet for worship or quilting!

My favorite aspect of our camp is the staff. Our God loving, fun having, energetic staff will meet the needs of your group. Whether it be an early morning coffee run, a quick fix, setting up an outdoor movie, or helping meet a dietary restriction need, we are here to serve you and we will bend over backwards to make sure you have everything you need.

This camp is God’s camp and we welcome all non-profit groups to utilize our facilities and make it a home away from home for a week, weekend, or summer camp experience!
